At least 9 people have lost their lives after a massive fire broke out in a four-storey building (Delhi Palam Fire News) early on Wednesday morning. Fire spread from the ground floor, 18 people trapped
According to the details received, the fire started from a cosmetic shop on the ground floor of the building. In no time, the fire became so fierce that it spread to the upper floors. At the time of this incident, a total of 18 people were present in the building. As the main exit was engulfed in fire, many people were trapped inside, while some people tried to save their lives by jumping from above.
Fire brigade’s mega rescue operation
The fire department received a call at around 7 am in this building located in Gali No. 2 near Palam Metro Station in southwest Delhi. Considering the seriousness of the incident, 30 fire engines of the fire department were immediately sent to the spot. After a lot of effort, the firefighters brought the fire under control and carried out a rescue operation for the people trapped inside.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed grief
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered an immediate magisterial inquiry, taking serious note of the incident. She wrote on social media platform ‘X’, “I am extremely distressed by this unfortunate fire incident in Palam. The district administration, fire service and Delhi Police are carrying out rescue operations. I have ordered a magisterial inquiry to investigate this incident and pray for the safety of everyone.”
